In Response to the DAILY PROMPT: Ripped Into the Headline:

Write about something that happened over the weekend as though it’s the top story on your local paper.

Staten Island Advance

with bike

January 9, 2016

Port Richmond Resident, Gayle, completed her series of 10 strenuous exercises at the The YMCA, 651 Broadway, Staten Island. Her trainer, Vinnie (the rock) Potala, stated “She did as well as could be expected.”

Although Gayle passed on the spinning class, she did manage 30 minutes on the stationary bike that has a full color TV.  A much anticipated diversion from her own bike which doesn’t have a TV.  New York City Mayor, Bill DeBlasio, refused comment, as well as Brooklyn’s former U.S. Congressman and mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, who stated “This event doesn’t concern my immediate needs.  Please don’t bother me again.” Staten Island’s U.S. Representative Michael Grimm was contacted for comment; however, Prison Warden would not allow reporter into the prison.

The YMCA is open 5 days a week
from 5:30 a.m. until 10:30 pm, and on the weekends
from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Please turn to page 8, to continue
reading further developments of Gayle’s
exercise plans.
